Artwork Pricing

Yes.

Commissions for custom paintings are accepted as long as those requesting the artwork are flexible to allow Michael to work in his style and respect his process. Prices can be negotiated.

USD $5.00 per Square Inch

For example:

An 11x14 inch painting (11 multiplied by 14) equals 154 square inches. Those 154 square inches will cost $5.00 each (154 multiplied by 5) which equals a total of $770.

11 x 14 = 154 then 154 x $5 = $770

No mysteries and easy to negotiate.

Because most commissions are for portraits, below are the common sizes which Michael recommends. Please remember that framing and shipping costs are additional. Special compositions can be negotiated.

9x12 inches
Prices start at $540 per person.

Head and Neck Portrait
11x14 inches
Prices start at $770 per person.

Head and Chest Portrait
16x20 inches
Prices start at $1,600 per person.

Head and Shoulders Portrait
20x24 inches
Prices start at $2,400 per person.

Head and Shoulders with Hands Portrait
24x36 inches
Prices start at $4,300 per person.

Half Length Figure Portrait
30x50 inches
Prices start at $7,500 per person.

Full Length Figure Portrait
40x60 inches
Prices start at $10,000 per person.

Other sizes and compositional layouts may be requested. Pricing for non-portrait commissions will follow the same size-base structure.

Please keep in mind that framing, shipping, and special requests cost extra. All artworks come with a signed and wax-sealed Certificate of Authenticity.

1. Decide that you really want a custom artwork in Michael’s style.

2. Determine the size you want.

3. Review on this page how much your desired size would cost.

4. Contact Michael with your request.

5. You and Michael will establish a way (usually video chat or in person) to talk about each other's expectations.

6. A contract will be created, reviewed, agreed upon, and signed.

7. An initial payment will be made.

8. Michael will begin the creative process and you both will maintain communication as needed to ensure everything is progressing to satisfaction.

9. The artwork will be completed, approved, and paid for in full.

10. The artwork will be delivered to you as agreed in the contract.
