Graphic Arts Portfolio

Michael’s experience as a graphic designer runs deep and has been one of the occupations through which he’s provided for his family. He has worked comfortably as both a freelancer and with in-house design teams. The majority of such work has been in layout design, photo manipulation, marketing, and branding with the occasional need to assume the role of illustrator or copywriter.

Disney

Michael animated 3D visual effects (magic dust) throughout Disney's historical remake of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, using Softimage 3D software. Starring Whitney Houston, Brandy, Whoopi Goldberg, Jason Alexander, Bernadette Peters, Victor Garber, and Paolo Montalban.

T-shirt design concepts as requested by a small dessert shop in Spring, Texas.

EmployBridge

As an in-house graphic designer with the EmployBridge marketing department, Michael created the artwork for: corporate materials, branding materials, sales materials, recruiting materials, branch materials, promotional items, instruction guides, articles, case studies, white papers, sell sheets, info-graphics, flyers, brochures, postcards, business cards, billboard ads, magazine ads, building signage, e-brochures, websites, (and more) for over 16 brand lines. Design work was done with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Dreamweaver.

Select Family

The Select Family of Staffing Companies (which merged into EmployBridge) published an annual calendar as a sales tool that could be used across multiple brand lines. Michael was assigned the task of developing the style, layout, and artwork for the 2013 and 2015 calendars in collaboration with the department's writer. Stock photography was selected and tediously manipulated, then layered in Adobe Photoshop. The completion of the layout and design were finally executed, packaged, and sent to print using Adobe InDesign.

My Weightlifting Coloring Book

Michael was the illustrator and designer for this ESL and EFL educational tool that introduces children to the sport of Olympic weightlifting and some of its international, world-class athletes.
